Jordan Peterson versus George Janko, Logan Paul, and Mike Majlak from Impaulsive

The Impaulsive Guys Beat Jordan Peterson Both in Comedy and Quality

Huh, I must say that coming up with the first article to publish at the regular time (not that I know what the regular time will be, but at first look Monday seems perfect to me. You know, a fun start to the week), the first real article in a sense that it didn’t come as the default the moment the website went live, is no easy task. Because, on the one hand, I know that further explanation and clarification are needed for you to know what is going on here, and yet, on the other hand, I do want to give you a taste of what the real articles, the opinion pieces describing my philosophy, will be. So yes, I’m kind of stuck with this hesitancy. Obviously, I’m pretty sure that you know from the title what I have decided. Indeed, I have decided, and I have realized that I’m leaning towards giving you a teaser of what is coming, because even for me, those are the pieces I truly love writing, so here it is:

The other day, in the gym (the location must be mentioned because the topic itself is so out of touch with the gym that it says a lot about my personality and the way I think, and that consequently affects my whole life philosophy, so I assume that all these background descriptions are essential hints), I don’t even know why actually, but I told my friend that in my opinion the guys behind the podcast show Impaulsive were providing something much higher quality than Jordan Peterson, our beloved conservative. Obviously, like many true fans would, and should be, he was deeply offended. Jordan Peterson brought in comparison with the Impaulsive? And then losing it? Woah, that is a steep claim, and I agree. But this doesn’t change the fact that I still mean what I told him, that the Impaulsive guys are better at what they are doing than Jordan Peterson, and that they might even have a more favorable impact on society.

What makes me say this? Do I have an issue with Jordan Peterson, am I just one of the progressive liberals, or what is going on here? And for pity’s sake, the Impaulsive? Yeah, I understand that an explanation is needed…

First thing to put out there – I’m not a liberal. To an extent, I could even say I’m a conservative (for instance, I wouldn’t even use the expression “for God’s sake” because to me that’s a bit offensive, not that this is the true meaning of being a conservative, but you know what I mean – I guess you actually don’t but just keep on reading). Not in a sense that I’m against abortion and oppose feminism, but I do disagree with the direction progressive liberals at the forefront of their movement/ideology, whatever it is, are taking, and the world they are consequently building. The effect these guys have on free speech, this whole cancel culture thing, it’s all crazy. I’m literally sorry for our ancestors who died for our liberty (who we are often rejecting these days as well for the dirty things they did – another ridiculous thing) because we are so misusing it in our luxurious peace. So yes, I’m definitely not a progressive liberal.

I like racist jokes every now and then because I do find them funny, especially the ones bashing my own country, Hungary. I’m still confused by the new pronouns we are using lately because to me this whole pronoun obsession is a trivial thing. My name is Márton, I want you to use a capital “M” when texting me, but I really don’t give a crap if you are not doing it because you have your own ways and I understand it. It’s okay, there’s no need to seek offence in everything. I even eat meat (I’m reducing it btw, so don’t judge me) on a regular basis, but I do not spend all my time on Amazon shopping and I’m not a customer of the tobacco industry, so we all have our good deeds and our bad deeds, and therefore, I do laugh at the liberals who are criticizing everybody from their high horses.

So, at first look, Jordan Peterson could easily seem like the right champion for me. A smart academic (is he still? I’m not entirely sure, but he definitely was once – I mean an academic, because smart he still is obviously) with a conservative philosophy providing a rather reasonable critique of what liberals are doing. I have to admit, he is indeed often pointing out the right mistakes, dismantling flaws within the liberal logic which I see the very same way. So, there is this aspect where I can definitely agree with him. But the way he is galvanizing the conservative energy, this League of Anti-Liberals he is assembling, are just eerily resembling what liberals in the opposing camp are doing. Even though intelligent a guy he may be, with his efforts, he is not solving anything, and similarly to the liberals, he is just appealing to a fierce crowd that already agrees with him instead of striving towards building a bridge of mutual understanding where people from both camps could find peace.

But no, unfortunately that’s not what is happening. Even when one is drawing attention to the legit flaws and contradictions in an ideology, like for the most part Jordan Peterson is doing with liberalism, the critique often turns into a self-complacent witch hunting where it’s always the opposing party that is brought under criticism for every mistake instead of finally someone admitting that it’s the ability to communicate and seek understanding which we are all lacking, regardless of our ideological positioning. Because to me at least, that seems to be the truth behind the story – All sorts of people obsessed with their very own perspective instead of realizing that we wear shoes of different sizes. So, the end result is just chaotic, with everyone knowing things while no one is listening.

And then, there is the podcast called Impaulsive. Just a bunch of guys joking around and living happily. They bring on the show those guests they themselves are genuinely interested in, there’s no liberal quota about it, no need for a once-liberal-now-turned-into-the-most-ardent-conservative just for the sake of promoting a political message. It’s all chill, and the truth is, even informative if one wants to learn more about who their peers are watching. There’s no hate speech nor judging people for the different lives they lead. It’s just a self-focused journey which we should all be doing because if we all did it, we would have far less time to be offended by everything and to intervene in what other people are doing. We could just all be joking and jolly, and the world would be all the better for it.

So yes, in my opinion, despite certain past mistakes, Logan Paul and the guys around him on Impaulsive are genuinely amazing kids because they know what makes them happy, and that’s exactly what they are doing instead of always complaining about what other people are thinking. Whereas, Jordan Peterson, while undeniably smart he has to be, is a tiny bit too stuck in a Mexicon standoff between opposing ideologies which we could both let go to make the world a brighter place.

So, as a result, I still believe that the Impaulsive guys are better than Jordan Peterson at what they are doing. At least, for the moment, that’s what I think.
